A Visitor

Why don't we let the rabbits run outside?.. he's a VERY good reason.. young redtail hawk. The mom is huge. She has a 5 ft wingspan. Think she could swoop down and take my husband Ed off with her if she wanted to. Of course, the lovable wag would be talking all the way over the horizon, lol!.. I love him to death but the hawk would drop him when he got to the subject of the difference between FM and AM.. or all of the known info on whales.. anyway, I digress. We love our backyard menagerie, and the raptors are a big part of it. They are so beautiful.. soaring, gorgeous reminders of the reality of life. Like finding a hawk right outside your back door. Oh, here comes my Ed.. he's already talking.. love it.

My darling sweet husband kept interrupting me while I was trying to post. So he volunteered to write the blog, and well, I let him. Isn't he adorable? Oh yes, and the bird was cool too...

Oh no wonder the buns don't get out indeed...he's beautiful but I am sure glad we don't have these guys in our backyard! Even the large blackbirds around here scare the buns!

We have hawks in our area, too, and foxes. I would love to take the bunnies out to the garden with me, but it's too scary out there!!

The hawks are gorgeous!! But it is wonderful that your bunnies have such a loving home... I imagine even a big cage outside would be frightening for them... birds would probably try to land on it...

You're right of course, Wonderful. The birds would try to land on it, plus the raccoons and o'possums and whatever other creatures outside. Far safer to be inside looking out the windows for all of us :)
