I came up with a brillant idea, I would rub fennel on the paper with the names before I cut into pieces for the drawing. It worked perfectly. I placed the bowl in front of Dottie, and she immediately went for it, WITH A VENGENCE, lol!..

"Mmmm, smells yummy.. nom, nom, why pick, I'll eat them all", Dot sez!..

The good thing about fennel is how aromatic it is. The bad thing about fennel is how aromatic it is... As you could see in the last bunny picture, Cooper made his way to the top of the cage to see what Dot was getting. I almost couldn't keep Annette's name safe, and yet I had to get another name. So cautiously I set the bowl back down and stepped away. Soon I saw Cooper chewing on something... The second winner is Two Bunny Blog!

So the real problem with using fennel with the names? I saw Cooper chewing and pulled the name, but I also saw Dottie chewing.. what to do? Well, I guess Ms. Lorna of Fuzzy Creatures will have to figure that out... she is going to get her pick among the drawing choices. We'll make another of either, or anything else she chooses, to satisfy the third bunny pick. Who are we to say how many winners there will be.. after all, bunnies will be bunnies and they are IN CHARGE, as all already know, lol!!

Be Bold, Be Brave.. The Graysie Story

Once upon a time, well a specific time - say January 7, 2009, there was an adorable little gray lionhead bunny waiting in a glass cage at Petco store. You see, this cute ball of fluff had been at this store for a while trying the cutest of the bunny cuteness to win a forever home. Luckily this trick was starting to work on a soft hearted human, who just happened to be my husband...

My darling hubby had been stopping at a Petco in Longview on his way home to pick up pellets. He came across a little gray lionhead he dubbed Loco after the Longview highschool football team mascot. He was completely in love with this furbaby, but I wouldn't let him buy a bunny. No way - no how. We knew this job assignment was ending, and that he wouldn't be going back, so he called me on the way home that day. If that bunny is there, I'm bringing him home. I can't say no forever, and I really can't say no that well to my hubby... Then a little bit later I got a phone call again, the bunny was there and coming home. The petstore had sold little Loco to a couple who had brought him back. Why you ask? Because the cute, sweet, innocent little lionhead bunny had bitten the couple's ferret (!!) That story still makes me laugh. Does this look like the face of a fierce ferret hunter?

My sweet Graysie, my Stinkerbelle, my Stinkerdoodle. She loves to run and run and run. Very sweet when sleeping and occassionally when awake. Very adventurous, she goes where no other buns go, namely behind the couch.

Happy 3rd Gotcha Day my Graysie. You haven't aged a day my sweetheart. I love the little white strip under your nose that makes it look like it's moving 100 miles per minute. I adore the pure white belly that you push against the bars when you really want treats. May we celebrate many more adventures together.

The One Who Started It All...

We are having some computer issues at home which is delaying the posting of January's giveaway. I am excited because it's two, but also because I missed not having one last month and I really love the prizes.

Ok, enough of that, what you really want is a bunny. Let's cheat a bit and do a post from work. Since we ended last year with a gorgeous Californian, I think it's fair to start the year with his 'mini me'.

January 1, 2002

It had been a while since I had a furry baby in my life. We lived in a small apartment and it just wasn't fair to keep a dog couped up all day or to sentence a cat to looking at just 4 walls. I had a small garden on the porch area and tried to tempt the birds to come visit. Occassionally I would go to the local feed store to get bird food and roam around, it was there I first spotted the bunnies. I feel in love with a two tone brown bunny we quickly nicknamed Tommy TwoTone, but on the new years day when I went to get him I found out he was already spoken for. There was this tiny, tiny ball of fluff with gorgeous red eyes that watched me walk all around the store while I spoke to my hubby on the phone, and the sales lady spoke to the people who reserved Tommy on the phone, and I just generally wandered about wondering what I should do. I guess we'll never know what happened to the handsome brown boy, but those red eyes finally sunk into my thoughts and came home with me.

We were told it was a girl, and we named her Ermine. She was so small she fit in the palm of my hand. We were also told she was six months old. Ermine loved to run, running big circles all around me and doing the craziest jumps I had ever seen.

So cute!! Needless to say, everything we were told was wrong but we didn't find that out until later. My Ermine, nicknamed Squirim' Vermin because he was so small and hyper. Loved to chew on the rug, the molding, computer cables, tv cables and hide under the big chair. Ermine taught us a lot about bunnies and how to properly care for them. He would get horrible bouts of gas, and I would search and search for ways to help him out. Of course once I stopped giving him the seedy treat sticks he loved so much he had no more gas issues. It was the introduction of Coco to him we found out he was a boy, in a very obviously and completely male sort of way.. (giggle!!)

I think it was also obvious he wasn't six months old, more likely six weeks old. None of these things have ever detered those gorgeous red eyes. They may not see as well as they once did, but Ermine can still get his thoughts across when he wants.

Happy 10th gotcha day my grumpy little boy. Thanks for being the first, my teacher, my baby and my little sweetheart.

Timewarp back to November 22, 2008

Hubby and I decided Charisma was lonely. It had been a while since we lost our Marten and Charisma was all alone. I took her to the closest rabbit rescue, the North Texas Rabbit Sanctuary where she meet several eligible bachelors while I sat on a couch rubbing on a very demanding bunny boy who looked just like my lost Marten. Charisma wasn't having such a great time though, either the boys ignored her or wanted to box her. Finally the lady in charge, Barb, said "Well, let's try Smudge". At the tone in her voice I looked around at the faces in the room. They were all like 'Really'?? Things got more interesting when there was a bit of a debate who would actually go get this Smudge bunny.

It turns out Smudge doesn't like to be picked up. He whimpers whenever you do. I mean, he really whimpers when you pick him up. Plus even then he was a big boy. So in the xpen they placed Smudge and went on chatting. As I glanced at Smudge with Charisma, Smudge did a little binky (happy hop). I think I completely lost my heart at that very instant. He did several more little binkies and needless to say he came home with us that day.

As you probably know, I never did bond Smudge and Charisma. There are days I still consider trying again. Smudgie is my puppy dog bunny, he follows me around and stays constantly underfoot. He always loved to be rubbed, but would flinch on about every other rub. Now he puddles for me and rarely flinches, but he still hates to be picked up :)

..Sorry to be so late posting your gotcha day Smudgie. Can I stop trying to make it up to you with extra treats??..

Hello again! So sorry to be so quiet, this December has been a bit more then I expected. I can't believe it's been a year since I lost my Bunko and my Dad, so I made a decision to give myself the Christmas gift of no giveaway this month. I bought a pair of antlers, got a fun Santa hat, and even a cute elf-ish collar...and what did I use with the buns this weekend? None of them, not even one... oh well, I guess there is a few more days before Christmas, and I've been late before. Stubborn, I think that is the true meaning of the word 'bunny'... Smudge-3 Mom-0

I just have to say it's very difficult to give a 13lb Californian bunny boy oral meds when he does not want to take them. Smudge is doing well, he is still very active and full of attitude. When it comes to giving him his reglan, well, it's just not a job I like doing. I get some in him, some on his dewlap, and a lot of me. I never knew how much liquid a bunny could hold in his mouth... but as my hubby said, I wear it well.. haha!

Smudgie started eatting decently on his own today, finally. There is even a decent pile of pooties in the litterbox. It helped my bunspace order came in, willow leaves seems to be the food of choice. I hope it continues, and not just for my pant's sake.

Just a quick update, Smudge is home. The vet gave me an option to let him spend another night there or bring him home. She found a couple of sharp spurs on his right bottom molars, although she said it didn't appear to cause any trouble to his tongue. Smudge is not impressed, he thumped me good on the way home and is still refusing most food. He will get more reglan in the morning, and some critical care if he doesn't eat more overnight. For the duration, we are on pootie watching patrol... what fun..

On the up side, the vet called Smudge "cantankerous" several times on the phone! haha! My boy is still my boy :)

Smudgy update

Thank you everyone for the well wishes! My baby boy is staying the night at the vets. The vet gave him a shot of reglan, but his output still isn't what it should be so they are going to keep him and give another shot tonight and again in the morning. If the shots don't set things back in motion, the vet is going to put him under slightly to check his teeth and do lab work. Then we'll go from there.

In the good news department, the vet commented that Smudge was very strong. He is refusing to help out with any of his care, refusing to open his mouth for feeding (he's chewing the syringe) and struggling when they try to clean him up. haha! At least my boy knows how to have a good time. (not!)

So the saga continues. Stay tuned.

Smudge, in happier days

My Smudgy boy is feeling poorly. He had some gas issues on Friday, and I gave him the standard meds. He started to snap out of it Saturday and was doing much better on Sunday. Then this morning he refused treats again, so more meds. Tonight he ate a bite of banana, a bit of papaya and a couple of bits of alfalfa hay, but not any anything else. He will be dropped at the vets in the morning - she isn't in office on Mondays - so if any spare vibes would be appreciated for my boy.

Will post what the vet says. I threw out all the pellets, and greens and hay because I've had a couple of other bunnies had a bit of issues this weekend as well. I do hope they can help Smudge easily, my poor sweetie has never really been sick before. Thanks everyone.

Funny how some you have some ideas, but take so very long to put them in action. Today is one of those days that I need to put an idea in action. I've been forgetting some very important days, and well - it's time I shared.

October 19, 2007
I went to Weatherford to pick up a black loppy girl named Enola. She was meant to be a friend to my Monty. She was an adorable little 2 year who needed a new home because her owners were expecting their first child. Enola was bold from word go. She loved to play in the trash can, would dig in it, jump on top, and move it all around.

Wasn't she adorable? It was quickly apparent being named after a bomber plane wasn't going to work with her being such a beautiful bunny girl, so Bella became one of the household.

It's been wonderful 4 years my beautiful sweetheart. Happy Gotcha Day.

Let's go even further back in time, October 23, 2004
My trio - Seal, Otter and Marten had decided to divide themselves. I let Seal have her choice which left my Marten alone. So off to Wild Rescue Marten and I went. I wondered through the bunny yard, the lady at the rescue picked up a gorgeous brown bunny named Darling and plopped her in my arms. Boy, was she a handful! I almost dropped her a couple of times, silly girl. We placed Darling and Marten on a couch and went off to select a few more potentials. One was all it took, by the time we got back Darling and Marten were united on the couch standing off a cat sleeping at the top. All I can say is Marten had really good taste, Darling was gorgeous...

Darling was real wild child, loved to run and jump and get into trouble. Charisma was the perfect name. A complete and total love, smart and mischievous. A perfect pick.

Happy 7th Gotcha Day my Charisma. You have been a blessing and joy every day.

Bunny pictures and scrabble tiles

For the last couple of weeks I have been working on some jewelry to send to the House Rabbit Resource Network rescue in Austin / Pflugerville. I love that they sale my jewelry in the bunny boutique there at the shelter. There is no charge to them, so all the money they raise goes straight to them. We first brought the jewelry to them, but then we came home with our ever wonderful duo of Cooper and Dot. I am still in awe how special they are, such little darlings. They brought such fun to our lives and especially to the monthly drawings :) ..But no more trips to the rescue. haha!

I asked if I could play with some of the bunny pictures from the HRRN website to create some scrabble tile pendants. They granted permission, and here is what I came up with:

This is Dale. I think it's obvious why I chose his adorable little bunny self. Isn't he such a doll?

This cutie is Blaze. I fell in love with the stripe down his (her?) face. I think the background is a little loud, but it was fun to play with.

This sweetie is Goldilocks. I just love the ears and sweet expression. I thought the deep purple background was a great blend with the blonde fur.

The darling duo of Bella and Pumpkin. Ok, I think I feel in love with the names as much as the bunnies. This was a great picture to begin with, but I couldn't resist trying to change things up a bit.

And of course I had to add my Dot. I will probably work on Cooper at some point, but Dot was a favorite of one of the volunteers at the rescue. I love this picture because it shows her sweet curious nature and gorgeous ears. I like the flowers in the background, but I wonder if they are a bit too dark.

Tangled September's Giveaway

Gracious, this month is getting away from me. The heat has finally let up just a bit, but only to come back this week. It looks like Dallas is going to break the 1980 record for 69 days of 100+ heat. Somebody turn the heater down already. :) The bunnies are doing well, loving our air conditioning and napping as much as possible. Will catch up on the all the bunny biz later, but lets get to the fun part where we lighten things up a bit by giving away some lovely, fun jewelry.

Breezing in on his month's giveaway is a lovely set of precious earrings we call "Tangled Up In Buns"!..

Two adorable buns, we call Django and Djingle, are cuddling and climbing all over each other in these ojime wood bead earrings. Why? you ask.. To get treats of course!

Ojime beads are carved by hand. Each bead is individual, and these two are simple adorable. I find them fascinating in the signatures of the artist on each bead. Not only is signature different, but is located in a different place on each. Yet the pair of earrings are an excellent set. The bunnies are perfectly formed, down to their adoreable little bunny butts. :)

An antique copper triangle with copper findings accent the beautiful wood finish. These beauties are 2 1/8" (5.3 cm) long from top of the copper earring wires.

Today has been a GOOD day. The rain came yesterday and stopped our string of super hot days. I spent the day cleaning and rubbing on bunnies. It's still my birthday week.

So when the time came to let out Dot and Cooper, they were mellow are ready to be loved. Dot when back into the cage to munch some hay, but my Cooper Super Duper stayed out. Such a cutie!
He's diggin' being the name-choosing bunny these daze..

So after some rubs and kisses, I asked Coop if he would draw a name for me. He answered with a resounding yes!!.... and pulled out a Big Wad o' Names!

A bit of trying to narrow down the batch yielded more nom-nom-nom'ing.. he finally chewed on one name enough it was almost digested, lol!

July's Winner is...

Things went juuuuust a little crazy... it was a simple drawing of a name for a giveaway on Facebook. Dot had done it several times, even soliciting bribes from past winners and future hopefuls. Dot is a pro, I knew she knew the drill. Of course, in BunnyWorld, nothing is ever certain!

We took a bowl full o' names of entries into the bunnies' domain. A discussion insued asking the bunnies to concentrate intently on the bowl of names:

So, naturally, every other spot in the room held their rapt attention EXCEPT the bowl in question!!

(Don't you just love the soft spots on bunny necks? Love the coloring they both have... you gotta love Dot and Cooper aka, collectively, "Dooper")

Thus, we resorted to our special well-honed training techniques only known by true blue "Bunny Whisperers".. bribes..

Dot decides umm... No, I don't think so.

So something odd happens.. if Dot won't cooperate, there is nothing else Cooper wants to do except THE OPPOSITE.. so, Cooper goes for it:

He drew a name and promptly made a beeline for his cage, ready to flee to a corner for the sole purpose of doing something productive, he HAD to eat the paper.. Dot utilized the distraction to grab an entire big bag of dried apple treats and charge into another part of the cage with it. Her plans seem to include a nite of downing the whole bag of treats as soon as possible.

After much chasing both of them, laughing, while I reached in Cooper's mouth and pulled the slip of paper out like a fortune cookie saying out of Coop's gullet.. I finally rescued the slip of paper to reveal..

I had written Story Teller instead of StoryBeader, the entrant.. nonetheless, it's Congratulations StoryBeader!!..

Dot's Prize aka Gifts in the Mail

Dot has an amazing story. She was waiting in a rescue for 3 years for someone to pick her and bring her home. We fell in love with the bun next door, Cooper, we made a special trip back to the Austin rescue to get our Coop, and they suggested Dot, next door, as his love bun.

Cooper is an absolute doll and such a rub whore, but Dot has been a revelation. They said she was cage aggressive, but didn't warn us she was such a thief.. stole our hearts from Day One, and continues to do it every day. She has too much personality for one bun, thus her nickname "Dot Plus"!

Dot will do the unexpected at any given time, and never fails to bring a smile to my face. She became our bunny to draw names on our Lavender Rabbit Studio jewelry giveaway. Dot LOVES the attention, hopping for her time in the spotlight.

So when someone promised Dot a reward if her name was drawn for June's giveaway, I guess Dot knew. That person (Ms. Jade Drc!) had to make good on the promise. So a few days ago a box arrived in the mail from Bunspace. It contained lovely bunny booty:

A little coaching; rattling of bags and a sneak peak (taste) of the presents... Dot came to investigate.

Is this for me? I think it's all for me! This pineapple smells really yummy...

Preparations were made, the names written on pieces of paper and placed in the drawing cup. Just needed my camera when I hear it... THUMP!! Thump Thump!! Off to the bunny room to check everyone out. Cooper is thumping up a storm and everybun is on high alert. No idea what upset them, I try to calm everyone down. Rubs all around and treats.

A while later, I try again. Some interest in the big cup...

Which one would you choose?

This past weekend we went to a bead show in Grapevine. It is always one of my favorite shows, but this year was really fun. I found lots of new bunny pieces. Yippee!!! haha. So here is my dilemma: the pieces I was deciding on for June's giveaway are no longer in the running. The new pieces are just too awesome. I mean truly awesome. I can't decide which one to use, or even if I want to part with any of them :) So I will let you choose, do you have a favorite?

We had some fun today. Sunday is always cleaning day and I saved Dot's and Cooper's cage for last. I guess I waited too long, as Dot wasn't much interested in drawing for me. My only saving grace is she was really interested in the dried apples I had as her reward. Finally I got Dot's nose in the bowl...

April's Joys

Hello everyone. I can't let April end without sharing the wonderful moments contained within this month. Lots of anniversaries happened, so I will begin at the beginning.

April 4th was our 10th anniversary! Amazing right? Who knew ten years ago? This picture is from our wedding day, taken in the apartment back then. Seems like so long ago, and only yesterday.

My hubby is such a darling, he took me to Vegas to celebrate. We had a wonderful time, with the bunnies safe at home with their bunny Godmother Paulina to look after them. We stayed at the Cosmopolitan and the view from the room was fabulous - day and night:

The view was even seen from the big tub in the bathroom. We had a bird's eye view of the fountains at the Bellagio, very cool.

And of course, we had to take a picture off the balcony.

And if you've seen the commerial for the Cosmopolitan, we didn't find any white bunnies to rescue.. but we did find some very cute bunnies at the City Center mall.

Aren't they so cute? And speaking of really cute bunnies...

April 23rd was our Seal and Otter's 7th gotcha day! Can't believe we've had the "Terrible Two" for seven years now. They were so small when they came from the Richardson Animal Shelter, such little bundles of energy - and quickly dubbed the Terrible Two.

Today they are calmer, but no less adorable. My Otter - the bigger of the two is a snuggle butt, and will walk on his back feet for nana. My Seal, Sweet Seal Cute Seal, is finally starting to live up to that nickname. Determined, vivacious and willing to let you know her opinion; she can steal anyone's heart with a single look from that perfect little face. Together they make my living bunny houseshoes.

April 24th is a very special day here in the household. This year it marked the 9th gotcha day for my superhero bunny Coco. Coco was purchased as a friend for Ermine, whom we thought was a girl at the time, and together they taught us bunches and bunches. Coco was so cute as baby , she loved to run bunny 500 rounds around and around our apartment.

It's been three years now she's been disabled. Not a day goes by that I don't gather strength in her joy and determination for life.

Bunnies are all marvelous beings, and to know them is to know true love. I am lucky to have my wonderful hubby by my side, and I truly believe we are blessed to have the bunnies.. even if they are little furry stinkers :)

This past Saturday brought a very cool package to my door. My prize from Natascha's Inspirations!

Do Dot Dippity and a Winner

Our beautiful Dot is once again feeling feisty and fun. She is still on the medication, and took it willingly tonight. She is eating and running around, acting normal and adorable. I don't think she ate as much hay as she normally does, for some reason I think she believes she deserves many more treats instead, but all is looking much better in our bunny world. Thank you everyone for the good wishes!

Now on to fun stuff, the drawing for Miss Pearl. I thought maybe this time I could get a video of the drawing, but the bunnies had other ideas. Like getting into the big tub of dried apples I was using for bait... but Dot did what Dot does - she picked a name. I'll let the video show what happened next, but fair warning - if you have the sound on my laugh is loud.

Delay...

Sorry to break bad news, but March's drawing will be delayed until tomorrow due to having to take Polka-Dot to the emergency vet. When we got home from our trip to Austin, Dot was laying stretched out and not interested in food. My meds on hand didn't work, so off the vet we went. They didn't find large amounts of gas in her tummy, but they didn't find many poops either. So Dot is on metacam and reglan and will be fed some critical care if she doesn't eat greens tonight. Please send some feel better vibes for my Dot, as she needs to feel better so I can stop worrying...

Lazy Snowy Days

Recently we were stuck at home due to snow and ice on the roads. While we all slept alot most of the time, I did manage to snap a few photos of the buns. Here are some of my favorites:

My Smudgy boy. I tried to get the super cute picture of his paws out in a perfect bunny sphinx pose, but he moved. He's giving me the look "What do you want? I want treats, but will settle for lots of rubs."

And last but never least, my Graysie girl. We have been letting her run the house when we're home. We are still hoping to bond her to Bella and Ferd, but I haven't done any bonding sessions recently. Doesn't she have the most adorable face?

I wanted to add a bonus armadillo picture. My hubby took this while I was at work. He said this guy just wouldn't leave until he actually went out there with the camera.

I say he - I have no idea - is awesome. He was huge and just look at those claws. Hope he found lots of grubs and good eating before the weather set in.

Fun Stuff in the Mail!!

I'm a bit late with sharing my goodies, so I hope you all will forgive me. A couple of weeks ago I got the awesome news I won the giveaway from the blog The Zen of Bun. It's a beautiful white scarf. When it came in the mail my hubby had it all opened for me and spread out on the table. I couldn't wait to play with it so I had dear hubby take a picture of me in it..

Isn't it awesome? The yarn is really fun weight and there are beautiful shiny beads everywhere. I love, love, love it.

But wait - there was more in the package...

A handwritten note from Jade on one of the wonderful Year of the Rabbit postcards from Qi papers. Jade did the sweetest note and the funniest drawings :) And you can see from the picture there was also a little something from Mickey. Isn't he so handsome in his picture?? He sent a bag of his favorites treats to our buns. They loved them.

Unfortunately it's really, really hard to get a picture of bunnies enjoying their treats while giving them said treats. Cooper was kind enough after two of the cookies to let me snap a quick picture.

Thank you so much Jade and Mr. Mick!! I've gotten many compliments and my scarf, and the bunnies well.. they want to know when they are getting more cookies in the mail :)

Ermine and Coco

I guess it's fitting to end the Christmas pictures with the couple that began our warren. Ermine is 10 or so now, and his Coco is right behind him. Coco gets excited to be out of her area, sometimes just to out to play and sometimes because she wants to be left alone. Ermine on the other hand is just grumpy. He led me a merry chase around the room before I finally scooped him up and put him on the couch. Then of course, he wouldn't stop moving enough to get a picture. :) Finally, here are the final duo:

More Christmas Pictures and an Adventure

Only two more to go and I hope to get those tomorrow. Ermine and my Coco. I will be home from work and hopefully can get a good shot of Ermine's gorgeous red eyes in the daylight. He is such a grunty puss, but with any luck he will let me snap a few shots.

We collected socks and such at work to deliver to homeless shelters. We do this every year, but this year my director collected a record - almost 1900 pairs of socks in all sizes and a few other necessities. We split these items into three groupings and took them to three different shelters today. The shelter I was assigned to is called The Bridge. I have been to a shelter before, and it is an experience, but to do so just before Christmas made my heart break. It hurts to lose those you love, but I knew my Bunko and my Dad were always taken care of. They didn't have to worry about eating, shelter or warmth under my care. I know these people worry about these basics everyday. It was simply startling to behold. The amazing piece to me was how polite most of these people were and so eager to help. I was glad I was there to give a donation, I wish it was more. Next time I am asked to send boxes and letters out I will have my own personal story to share. I am touched and blessed.

Dot chilling

Things have been a bit crazy here. I told you all about losing Bunko, but I've been holding back. We lost my Dad on the 10th. He was sweet, and generous family man who loved his life and Christmas. He was more then ready to continue his journey off this earth, and we miss him terribly. So I have been trying to learn from the bunnies, slow things down, and just breathe.

Will be posting Christmas pictures soon, almost have everyone done. Nose bonks.

Bunnies take every opportunity. They are sweet, inquistive, and down right adorable. I had an empty bag of alfalfa hay I placed on the floor. My Ermine made a beeline for it - hubby caught it briefly on video. Check out the wiggle in that bunny butt :)

Farewell My Pirate Duke

Words simply cannot express the sorrow. I'm very sad to tell you my Bunko has left us for the rainbow bridge. I took him to the vet last week because his third eyelid was swollen. He was accompanied by my Seal who is always battling sludge. The vet called and asked to keep them overnight as they were still working on them both. Bunko's stomach never got better and they wanted to watch and run some more tests. When I came to pick them up on Wednesday, the tech went back there to get Bunko ready to go and he started having trouble breathing. They put him on oxygen but he didn't get any better. Probable causes were congestive heart failure and kidney problems. The vet said it was only a matter of hours before he passed, so I made the decision to stop my baby's pain there.

Our home is lonely, there is a hole that can't be filled. My Bella and Ferd are sad, it's obvious, but they are the sweetest bunnies. I spend time with them to cheer them up, but I think they are cheering me up more. Bunnies really are such amazing beings.

Bunko was pure joy, pure love. He taught us to go for what we want and never let go.

We love you my baby boy and we miss you. Thank you for finding us and filling our home with love. Farewell my sweetheart until we meet again.

Getting Ready for the Holidays

Sorry to be so quiet my blog friends. Just a few bunny bits going on. Bunko is still having some tummy troubles. We aren't having to do daily meds anymore, but he hasn't really gained much weight. His favorite treat at the moment is papaya, and we give him a piece as often as we can. Then I noticed Ferdy Bird wasn't eating properly either. So fearing another tummy problem off to the vet we went. After all day at the vet, I finally find out the poor baby had spurs on his molars. So my freaky Ferdy is home now, hiding out in the living room probably plotting on how to eat my favorite shoes as soon as his mouth stops hurting or something. Life in a house full of bunnies is always entertaining.

Therefore trying to take some pictures for this year's Christmas cards isn't working out today, but here are a few of the fur babies hiding from me the best they can...

Update on the Pirate Duke

All is not quite right with our warren. The temperatures are in the 80's and 90's F, and life is returning to our nightly routine. All except my very own Pirate Duke Bunko. Bunks has had some gas issues for the last week. We went to the vet and found no blockages or twists in the digestive system. So my Bunko is on meds twice daily for four days. It's been two days and he seems better tonight. Oddly enough my little piglet that never seems to stop begging has lost weight. I am having to try to tempt him with herbs, treats and critical care. That is actually a joke, Bunko *hates* critical care. I finally bought apple juice and baby food to mix in to get him to take a few bites. Silly boy, he just needs to eat more. I never thought I'd have that problem...

This is the view I am getting most often. He seems to have a real problem with Mom checking the litter box everytime he hops out.

Can't Beat the Heat

The bunnies are I are still staying low and inside. We reached 107 F on Monday. My fur babies don't come out until dark, preferring to stay in the darkest coolest corner they can find. I spend my nights cleaning, changing out cool water and brushing - lots of brushing. The bunnies are shedding like, well, the fur monsters they are. I apologize for the lack of new bunny pictures. I expect the bunz to feel more photogenic say around November - haha!

So for today I have some pictures of critters outside withstanding the heat:

A gorgeous tiger swallowtail on our lantana. The lantana is about the only plant still alive in the garden and it feeds not only the butterflies and moths, but I've also seen our visiting hummingbirds on it. It's a really gorgeous plant, about 4 years old now and seems to withstand anything.

An anole lizard on our crape myrtle tree. He seemed to being "Go away lady, you're not my type"... I love the little lizards.

This critter was bold enough to come out in the daylight. We often see raccoons at night munching on the bird seed, but hardly ever in the day. A couple of nights later though, we saw two this size and four *tiny* babies. They were so cute! and appropiately out around 11 pm. I also got another surprise (but no pictures) of an armadillo wondering through the backyard. He was so cool. I have seen them before, dead along roadside or in zoos and such, but never alive in the wild. I was totally fascinated.

One last picture for you today.One of my favorite bunny pictures - Ferd when he was much smaller would climb underneath an oversize chair we had and hide for hours. He wouldn't even come out for treats, he would just stick his nose out for feeding:

Quick Trip to Galveston

We took a couple of days to go to the beaches of Galveston, TX. The bunnies would be left safely at home to snooze. So off hubby and I went early one morning, he drove and I slept. What great travel company I am! haha! We arrived mid afternoon, just enough time to catch lunch/dinner at one of our favorite restaurants Gaido's and to take a ferry trip. I love the ferry, watching the water, watching the birds and occassionally dolphins, the other sight seers and boats. Plus it's free and the wind and water are cooling. Trust me, it was HOT...

Here are some of the seagalls chasing the ferry. Sometimes passengers feed them at the back end. Always hopeful, the birds follow.

A couple of extra riders on the ferry. They rode like that the entire way. So cute!

At the end of the ferry ride, there are birds lined up on the pier. I think they watch to see if the boats pull up anything interesting in the water. Or it could be the air flow.

The next day we made it to the beach. There were cute little terns walking the shore line. They didn't let me get close, and my camera wasn't my good one, but I had to capture the memory.

There was a storm coming so we went home after the beach. Galveston is still showing signs of devastation from the hurricane Ike. It was still upsetting to see, but the new construction was heartening. Galveston is gorgeous, the Gulf of Mexico big and roaring, and our trip was just what we needed.

Oops, a couple of more photos from the beach... Giant dragonflies zoom all about the beach, they were glorious to watch as they danced in the sky.

And the morning glory growing wildly across the sands of the beach. All I could think of was the hummingbirds at home would love it...

Stages of Becoming a Pirate

He is finally home!.. our Bunko, our one-eyed Pirate Bunny, is back in his window. We know now that when he wants to watch the wildlife outside, he sits facing north, with his left eye to the world. When he doesn't care, or it's dark, it's right side out. We never knew that before, until the vet told us he was blind in that right eye.

That blind eye is safe now. No more scratches or injuries to it, like the one that necessitated it being taken out. The stitched eyelid is healing nicely. Our Bunko is hopping around, begging for treats and eating (and most importantly, pooping!) normally.

It seems that the hardest part for him, besides the surgery, was being away from his BFF's, Bella and Ferd. As soon as they were allowed together, there was side by side, over and under.. totally hot-crossed-buns- laying- together behavior. They were to be separated for some time but we believe we are going to leave them together. The Bellanator and Ferdie are leaving his sewn eye alone, and they are just too cute together.

Bunky is none the worse for wear. He looks wonderful and fully recovered as soon as the fur entirely grows over his eternally winked eyelid. Going through that experience with him, we gained some sense of what it would be like without him. We realized that life without Bunko would be so different. He is really one of those life-changing buns. He's ready for us to stop medicating and bothering him, but it's probably more us constantly loving on him. He's just so precious, and we can't rest for letting him know it.

"The bun who came in from the cold", a complete volunteer that just showed up in the yard one day, is now such a part of the lives of the rabbits and humans in this house, he can't sleep as all demonstrate how much they love him. Only one eye, maybe.. but he has the biggest heart in the world.. his that makes him our Love Bunny, and large chunks of all of those around him! We love you, Bunko!

The Making of Bunko the Pirate

Sometimes when you start things you know where you want it to go, but then life changes. When I started this blog I thought it would be about mostly jewelry, with some bunny bits and garden shots thrown in. While I love making jewelry - all the colors and playing with beads soothe my creative soul, the garden is currently being burnt by the sun, so the bunnies win hands down. Bunnies are fascinating creatures - full of love and joy mixed with mischief and mayhem. It's the mischief / mayhem piece that must have gotten our Bunko in a bit of fix.

We don't know how the story truly begins. What I know is when I felt Bunko's little face in the dark it was wet, really wet. Turning on the light I didn't see anything. He was eating, so if it was teeth it wasn't bothering him that bad. Decided to check him again in the morning and take him into the vet. The morning brought such sadness, Bunko's eye was completely white and icky. My poor baby! Waiting very impatiently for the vet's office to open, Bunko and I got the very first appointment and the bad news: the eye was blind, part of it dead and would need to be removed. All weekend long, my brave handsome Bunko had all sorts of medicines shoved in his mouth and ointment in his eye. Bunko is a real trooper and he loves his mommy, he took all in stride. That metacam is tasty stuff, nice and sweet. Benebac - sure he'll take that. Bayril..uh... ICK! Only once did he look directly at me and pee in protest. Plus Bella and Ferdy stayed by my boy's side, giving him love and support.

The morning of the surgery, I had the dirty deed of putting Bunko in the carrier and taking him to the vet. Even Bella came running up to the carrier to jerk the door open to let Bunko escape. I almost stopped then and there, but knew it had to be done. That was a day of pure torture, waiting for the vet to call and say the surgery is over. The call came, and Bunko the Brave started his journey of becoming Bunko the Pirate Duke of Beggardom. This will take a week of recovery, away from his furry family because of the (silly) vet's say-so. We shall see is that last bit is even possible. I am really, if Bella will try to destroy a carrier, face a vacuum in full on mode, what is a little gate to stand in her way? The story will continue until the tranformation is complete. My darling sweet Bunko will become the Pirate Bunny Bunks. A dashing bunny boy to steal your heart with a (permenant) wink.

We didn't due much this weekend except sleep and clean. While I'm still working on Charisma's blog, I though I would share a few stolen moments with the bunz over the weekend.

This is my gorgeous Coco. You might recognize her from my banner on etsy in the days before she was disabled. She's giving me the 'you've done enough woman, now leave me alone look'. Beautiful and strong, my Coco.

Dreaming of the Buffalo Bunny and her Protector

My house and heart have been blessed with many bunnies over the last few years. It started with Ermine and Coco a little over 8 years ago. I begun then learning about bunnies and volunteering at a local rescue. Big mistake, as I immediately wanted more bunnies. To talk my hubby into this, I took him to the Christmas open house at the rescue that year. I was overwhelmed by all the bunnies, wanting to take them all home. Hubby walked through, greeting bunnies and humans and on the way home said we should adopt the pair of brown bunnies. I remembered them as one large and one small, but he said they were two small ones? The next weekend I went back to help clean and see them again. One was large, one was small. I remember talking about possibly adopting another pair and asking which pair had been there the longest? It was meant to be, the rescue said the two brown bunnies. So home they came in a borrowed carrier on that fateful day Dec 28th, 2002.

Some day maybe I can talk about them without tears, but today is not that day. They were named Twix and Snickers, but we renamed them M and M ~ Lady Mahogany and her Lord Montgomery to be our Maggie and Monty.

My Maggie was beautiful, large and soulful. To appear smaller, quiet and shy, or sweet and innocent was just one of her many tricks. I believe she must had been a mother, she just had that air about her. Maggie could stop you cold with one look or melt your heart with another. She was nicknamed the Buffalo Bunny - large, brown, furry and stubborn. She taught me so much - patience, learning bunny ideas and ways, but most of all how to start to earn bunny love. The first time she left me pet her and she puddled I thought she was sick! Haha- I think it took a good three weeks before it happened.

Monty was never really a cuddle bunny, he had things to do and places to go. He would run wild and crazy binkies around the room to just hear me laugh. Monty would give me one of his 'are you watching?' looks and launch himself into space. He quickly became our Mighty Monty, ever the viligant protector. Monty loved his Maggie, and took care of her until the end. We lost Maggie on 11/19/06 after a seizure probably caused by E. cuniculi. We lost our Might Monty to thymoma on his own independance day 7/4/08. I owe them so much, they brought such joy and love into our home.

All of this comes from a dream I had last night about my lost babies. They were at another place being taken care of until we could come and bring them home. We had come to visit, I was on the floor with my Maggie curled around my head. I was rubbing on her telling her how much I loved her and missed her while she was giving me kisses. Monty was busy getting attention from my hubby. Hubby was getting him some serious attitude because well, Monty had other things to do - haha! ..I wanted to linger in that dream all morning. I know they were telling me they loved us, missed us, and were ok. I also some how think they were telling me thanks for rescuing Cooper and Dot, another pair of bunnies waiting for a home in a sea of cages. Bunnies have such an amazing way of leaving their mark on your mind, heart and soul. It stays imprinted there forever. I wouldn't have it any other way.

Bunko Bunkston Bunkingham Von Fartlebee de Duke of Beggardom

My Bunky, my sweet adorable big brown bunny boy who came in out of the cold. He is one of a kind, an absolute sweetheart and a joy to be around. Bunky spends his days sleeping from what I can tell, either in the big window or if he gets hot, in a card board box up against a cool wall. His world has been turned upside down more then once since he first came into the house. We had him in a cage, but he was gentle and calm we let him run the house. He lost his cage to our Amber Buttercup (ATB) when we thought he needed a mate. Needless to say, neither wanted a mate. Amber passed away about a year after we brought her home, but then Ferd came along. Ferd we had in an x-pen in the den with Bunko. Ferd, well, he just wanted to play I guess and climbed out of the x-pen one day while we were at work. Hubby came home to find them snuggled together.

Then along came Bella, and my Bella, well - she is a big hard headed. She wanted to be free range with the boys, and no stupid human was going to stand in her way. So we let her out with the boys, and created the trio of Bunky, Ferd and Bella. Now Bunky has to contend with another intruder, our Graysie, although that bonding is a bit rough still. Both Ferd and Graysie are lionheads, and they seem to be not interested in anything but fighting. Bunky, my darling sweet boy, will simply bonk noses with Graysie but chase her away from his box if she gets too close. Then the silly mom (me) had to go and mess the quiet life up even more by added Cooper and Dot to Bella's day cage. Neither Bella, Ferd nor Bunky were ever put up in the cage, but they did sleep in it some during the day. Now they can't and some new strange bunnies are using their space. Again, my adorable boy Bunky doesn't cause a fuss, just goes to say hello the new duo and back to his area to relax.

Now all of this isn't to say my Bunky boy is perfect, although I think he is, he will grunt and chase when it's time for treats or food. If I'm too late, my ankles will be severely bonked, and my hubby's ankles, and anything else Bunky thinks will help. My silly boy, we absolutely adore him. I don't know how we ever survived without his angel's face in our lives.

Meet Cooper and Dot

Sorry to be so quiet, I've been making preparations for a new arrival. Meet Dot (the mostly white) and Cooper (the black & white) hiding in the back. They came home with us today from the HRRN. We got there early this morning and got the chance to feed the bunnies. So many cute bunnies there, all of them begging for their pellets. Loved giving them what they wanted :). Cooper and Dot were perfect passengers, riding in separate carriers on the way home, Dot playing with the hay in the carrier and Cooper the perfect angel just loafing. When we got home they immediately got and claimed the place. Cooper loved the cage, going in and out and in and out, seemingly incredibly happy with the large pootie box of hay. Dottie was a bit more shy, but she claimed a cardboard castle and happily took a nap. I didn't take too many pictures, wanting to give them more time to get used to us. So more will be coming. Here they are: And yes, they are even sweeter then this picture! Give me time - I will spoil them rotten and their true personalities will show! Ha Ha!

Updates and Love

Been busy trying to decide which bunny is to be next. All bunnies volunteered, they all want to be admired and love. What's a bun mom to do? What is fair, what is right? Ok, being a bit dramatic about it, so I decided to go alphabetic. Luckily for me I already started at the top. Look for my Bunky to be upfront and center next. My adorable sweet boy, I am coming for you...

In the jewelry news, I wanted to share this gorgeous treasury Kathcojewellery put me in. I just love the colors. Trust me though, it looks much better on the website: Shades of Sepia

Plus I really wanted to say thank you to all of you for the good wishes for my Bella's new hare cut. My gorgeous bunny girl is still blazing a trail upon her cute little bunny nose, but it's starting to grow back. A wonderful lady on the Petbunny mail list suggested Chamomile tea - just to calm down any redness or irritation plus it's uninviting for grooming. Thank you Kathy, it seems to really be helping.

And on a last note, is there anyone out there that can explain to me how to do the links to webpages in the single word or phrase? I'm a bit techy challenged, but determined and really hate the long links in the blog. *** Update - Thank you so much D.M.! As you can see I now have my links handily tied to the titles. Yeah! Love the power of the bloggerland.

My Bella Bunny Girl is beautiful, loving, playful, mischevious - in other words an absolutely darling loppy girl. She will charge into a room to scare, then run up to you for love. Her arrival has been a learning experience the moment she arrived. I had always read lops have their type of personality, I didn't realize it was an over abundance of personality! Bella spends her days sleeping in her cage or by her boys Bunko and Ferd. They are all free range, free to do what they want. But you see, the thing is, somebun has decided my beautiful Bella needed a bit of trim.. right on her nose.

This area isn't sore, Bella will let me rub and rub and rub. Some bun is over grooming, I suspect Ferd. Ferdy came from my hubby's ex wife's neighbor's daughter. Yep, those bunnies know how to find us! HaHa! I suspect Ferd was a bad breeder's baby, taken from his mom much too soon and not taught how to be a bunny. Ferd's method of grooming is more plucking then gentle kisses. I know this from the bald spot Bunko got on his back end. Bunko's spot I stopped by stopping the grooming, but I haven't caught Ferd in the act with Bella.

And the adorable, but not so innocent boys: Aside from banishing Bella to her cage, which I don't want to do - does anyone have any ideas to save my baby's good looks? Poor sweetie - she just wants to be loved.

Missing my furbabies

I noticed my blog was missing pictures of the bunz. This is the group picture my hubby and I keep to pull out and show off. The bunnies all look so peaceful here......and yet I know there is mischief and mayhem abounding at home. One thing about having rabbits about the house, you are never alone nor bored. So I promise I will update all the bunnies, starting with my Bella who is getting a lot of love and attention - all in one spot. You'll see; I promise.

Happiness outside the front door..

The garden is starting to come to life again. The weather is being nice, and I long to play in the dirt. There are plants that survived our strange winter, and they shine for me the moment I walk outside. Soon I will give them more friends, and I can't wait.

Wisteria Wonder

Just around the corner from our little house was a most wonderful growth of wisteria. It's gone now, but the scent still waffs in the air. I captured some pictures to post. First is the neighbor's wisteria bush to compare. Their bush is old, has been long before we bought this house several years ago.

And the beauty just gets more spectacular every year. I love something to look forward to :)

Visiting the Rabbit Rescue

A couple of weekends ago we went to visit the House Rabbit Resource Network in Austin, TX. They are moving to a new location, and had their grand opening last weekend. When we were there they were still busily cleaning and tiling and moving boxes around. It was a wonderful space, and I can't wait to see it finished. I was lucky enough to be contacted by one of the volunteers there asking if I would be willing to let them resale some of our jewelry pieces. Of course I said yes, anything for the bunnies. So we brought them extra bits for the grand opening when we visited. There were so many cute bunnies needing homes, I had to say hello and offer rubs to each one. Had to you understand, just had to. (LOL!) I feel in love with a darling little suede brown bunny boy who had just come into the rescue. His name wasn't on the door, so I nicknamed him Suede. Original right? Hubby kept calling me away to look at other bunnies. He feel in love with a gorgeous black and white boy named Cooper.

Meet Cooper. This picture does no justice for his beautiful fur or friendly personality.

Hubby hasn't stopped talking about his Cooper. Or Coop as we already call him. Well, we won't be going back to Austin until the end of May. You know how the story goes, if Coop is still there... he won't be for long :)

Why don't we let the rabbits run outside?.. he's a VERY good reason.. young redtail hawk. The mom is huge. She has a 5 ft wingspan. Think she could swoop down and take my husband Ed off with her if she wanted to. Of course, the lovable wag would be talking all the way over the horizon, lol!.. I love him to death but the hawk would drop him when he got to the subject of the difference between FM and AM.. or all of the known info on whales.. anyway, I digress. We love our backyard menagerie, and the raptors are a big part of it. They are so beautiful.. soaring, gorgeous reminders of the reality of life. Like finding a hawk right outside your back door. Oh, here comes my Ed.. he's already talking.. love it.

Bunnies are running away everywhere from the sight of a little red hat and a camera. Trying to take Christmas pictures for this year's card and it's not as easy as I would hope. Between family stuff, tax classes and jewelry I spend all my free time possible rubbing bunnies. Unfortunately this time is mostly at night and half my warren is black. So this year will be no different then last, Christmas cards will be late and bunnies will be giving me dirty looks for the next few months. Here a coupleof the pictures so far, my Bella the sweetest loppy girl here:

Coco, The Bravest Bunny I Know

As I start to think about what my bunny Christmas cards are going to look like this year, I start going through all the pictures I have taken. As well as thinking about the bunnies still with us and the one's whose time was up. We were incredibly fortunate this year, no one left for that multicolor bridge in the heavens. I am ever so thankful for the time I get to spend with my fur babies, especially my Coco. Coco came into our lives as a friend for Ermine. She was picked simply because I knew she was a girl (at the time I thought Ermine was a girl) and I loved the black and white coloring. Co is simply gorgeous.
That face, so expressive. She ran and ran and ran as youngsters do.

It was my hubby who bonded her to Ermine, I am still such a coward at bunny bonding.

With her rexy fur, Co is so soft and loves to rubbed. From the beginning her favorite human was my hubby, but she tolerated me as long as I rubbed when she demanded and gave plenty of treats. She would watch over me as I studied my tax classes and keep both Ermine and I in line.

She mellowed over the years, made the move to our house, took in the presence of other bunnies with grace and took long naps in the sun.

Coco never relinquished her title of Princess, all knew she was royalty. She knew when it was her out time, when dinner was to be served, and when treats were expected. Even now she will do the royal head bob and I come running. Ermine and Coco, a very cute couple.

Coco will be 8 soon, the only sign of her age is her disability.

At some point she injured her hip, and over time it begun to look like swiss cheese. She is on daily pain meds, but nothing else. Her life is spent on soft towels where she is hand fed pellets, treats, hay and water. Not because she won't eat - no no - because she deserves nothing less then personalized treatment. For two years now we have a daily routine of pampering and medicating and I wouldn't trade a minute of it. Coco has taught me how to survive being limited without giving up any strength or attitude. And although my hubby is still her favorite, I am treated to kisses for a job well done. I adore my princess, the bravest bunny I know.

It isn't often I get cute pictures of Seal, she has a weepy eye, sludge problems and major bunny attitude. She is one cool diva, and her personality even scares the vet techs! I adore her of course. I think she has the most perfectly shaped bunny face and I keep trying to get just the right picture. One day I will, but for now these will have to do. I bought the bunz a new cardboard castle from BunnyLuv.com. This is Seal and her brother Otter enjoying themselves doing what bunnies do best - sleep...

Been posting on etsy and working on custom orders, haven't had the chance to really play outside or in. It's been nice weekend, dinner at a favorite restaurant celebrating our birthdays and just staying in. We saw Harry Potter last week, such an amazing alternate world - but I think I'll stay in this one with my awesome hubby and bunnies. Thinking about the garden; possibly because it's too hot to actually go out there; so I decided to share some of my favorite pictures from walks past. Enjoy!

The Best of Surprises

She ordered a bracelet from us after seeing Bella's cute crowning glory. Her bunny Panda can be seen on her etsy shop looking very handsome in his new crown. Monday, Monday

There are some days you just can't help but want to stay home and play with the bunnies. All my furbabies have different personalities, and all react to me in their own way. One of my newest is a big californian bunny boy named Smudge. Smudge was adopted from the NTRS last November when I took Charisma up there to find a new friend. There were several potential boys, but my Smudgey Boy did little happy hops to get my attention. Charisma didn't seem to mind him, so home he came.

Smudge was quiet at first, a bit shy, but did the cutest happy 'bees in the head' shakes and always, always did a binky (happy hop) when out of his cage. It took me about a week before I could really rub on him, and after two weeks he was following me around every chance he got. My Smudge love has the most incredible purple/red eyes that just seem to say he understands. I can spend hours just rubbing on him and being comforted by his sweet spirit. He is my big gorgeous boy, and my happy Monday thoughts while I'm stuck at work today.

Catching Up

Life has been a bit crazy lately. So many things seem to happen this time of the year. I tried an experiment on Etsy, posting 100+ pieces at one time. I joked I was matching the temperature outside, I had 102 pieces listed and it was 103 degrees (!). June and July seem to be heavy with memories for me too, I've lost three bunnies during these months in years past. But I miss my mother the most now, even though it will be 6 years this July since she's gone. On a brighter note Dad has made it to 80 years old! Very cool, Happy Birthday Dad! I brought him cupcakes and he was happy to devour. Life can be sweet. Here's hoping we can all enjoy the small pleasures in life.

In Memory, Mr Mister Marten

It was just over a year ago my Marten left for the rainbow bridge. He was a beautiful boy, his picture drew me across the internet into the Richardson Animal Shelter, just to say hello. When the volunteer asked me which one I wanted, I said all three. So my Marten, Seal and Otter came home. They were so precious!

Soon it was time to get them fixed, but the boys begun fighting immediately. So I let Seal pick and she chose Otter; leaving Marten alone.

I was the big scary lady to Marten, he preferred my hubby, but I knew he wanted a bunny friend so off to find his Charisma we went.

Gorgeous arent' they? Marten was strong, he was brave, and he was in charge. He warmed up to me thanks to my love bug Charisma and I got quite attached to him. Marten loved his ears rubbed at the base, and would let me do it for as long as I wanted. Marten was never sick until one fatal day last year, he got gas then bloat. Bloat is a terrible thing, it can kill a bunny within 24 hours. The rest, I guess, is history now.

Sometimes though you have to dig through a stash, to see what treasures you discover. I want to try my hand at some sculpture and I'm thinking Graysie is the perfect first project. Will have to keep planning, there is a lot of fur to consider.. (haha) Currently though, I'm practicing with some easier bunnies. Made from molds of bunny pieces past, these are the babies of our warren: Some work is still needed, but soon most of them will be looking for 'adoptive' homes. Ah, it's good to combine things that you love. Nose bonks to everyone!

House Visitors

I peaked out my back door and saw the cutest visitors, house wrens. I could hear them calling, there were four going in and out of this pot. They were so adorable!

I did eventually have to go out that door, and the Momma bird gave me quiet the speech! All four came back later to stay awhile. I took more pictures (much too dark to post) and you can see the mom giving me the "eye". I don't think I've ever been so scolded by a bird before!
